The King's Academy is a private, distinctively Christian, university preparatory school for day and boarding students. Located on 67 acres (Trinity 5 acres) of gentle rolling foothills near the Great Smoky Mountains of scenic East Tennessee, the academy offers grades kindergarten through 12. Day students enroll in all levels; boarding students enroll in grades 7-12.
In 2004-2005, The King's Academy enrolled 384 students from fifteen nations. Approximately 95% of the graduating seniors continue their education at a college or university.
The official beginning of the academy was in 1880. The King's Academy today operates under the leadership of its Board of Trustees which is elected by the Tennessee Baptist Convention. The convention also provides approximately 13% of the academy's annual operating budget.
The campus is situated 13 miles from downtown Knoxville, TN, and 24 miles from Gatlinburg, TN.
